Baseball Recap: Tate Aggies vs. Navarre Raiders
Tate came into Tuesday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Navarre Raiders 6-5. The victory was just what Tate needed coming off of a 12-2 loss in their prior matchup.
Tate got a great performance from Neal Croom as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Croom has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Cole McNair was excellent, going 3-for-3 with three RBI and a double. Ketch King was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
On Navarre's side, Cole Crocker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ashton Sieg, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Tate's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9. As for Navarre, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tate will take on Pace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Navarre, they will head out on the road to challenge Gulf Breeze at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
