Soccer Game Preview: East Union vs. Downey

The East Union Lancers are taking a road trip to face off against the Downey Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East Union is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Linden a 7-0 shutout on Friday. It was an even better day for Addyson Soulier as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Downey had just enough and edged Central Catholic out 3-2 back in December of 2024.

East Union now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Downey, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season.

East Union beat Downey 3-1 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Union since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
