Basketball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington and Brandon Valley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Washington had to settle for second. They took a hard 72-56 fall against the Brandon Valley Lynx. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Lynx: they've now lost four in a row.

Alyvia Padgett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brandon Valley, shooting 53% from the field to rack up 30 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Padgett a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Gracie Salter, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points and seven boards.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Brandon Valley, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-2.

Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-64 win against Stevens on the 15th. As for Brandon Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-46 defeat against O'Gorman on the 15th.
