Preview: Crest Chargers vs. South Point Red Raiders

Crest has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the South Point Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully South Point likes a good challenge.

Crest stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to Stuart W. Cramer for the full four quarters, racking up a 82-51 win at home. That 31 points margin sets a new team best for Crest this season.

Crest found their leader in underclassman "King" Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Rhodes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. D'various Surratt was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, South Point unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 76-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Huss. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Crest's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for South Point, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Crest strolled past South Point in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 85-70. Does Crest have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Point turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
