Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sachse). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lakeview Centennial Patriots a 24-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.
Logan Schultz made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Sachse got a massive performance out of Maya Mcclarity, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs Mcclarity has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Siratt, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple.
Sachse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. They are 12-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Sachse's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Lakeview Centennial, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sachse is set to face off against their familiar foe Wylie East at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lakeview Centennial will challenge rival South Garland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
