Volleyball Recap: Vega Comes Up Short

Vega was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gunter Tigers.

While Vega ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20.

Vega's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gunter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vega will welcome Fort Elliott at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gunter, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Whitesboro on September 2.
