With a playoff win on the line, Boyd County rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Boyle County Rebels. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 16 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Boyd County and bumps their season record up to 28-5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Boyle County, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 26-9 record.
