Football Recap: Kaden Hoyer and Isaiah Dewitt Lead the Defense for University Prep Win + How To Watch

University Prep's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 32-6 margin over the Anderson Cubs. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Talis Payne, who rushed for 210 yards and one score on only 12 carries, and also threw for 140 yards and one TD. Those 210 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braeden Ballensky, who rushed for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: University Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

University Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Hoyer and Isaiah Dewitt. Another thorn in Anderson's side was Jordan Graves, who made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

University Prep's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Anderson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Coming up, University Prep is taking a road trip to take on West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on November 1. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 28.2 points per game this season. As for Anderson, they will be playing at home against Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
