Football Game Preview: Coahoma County Red Panthers vs. Alcorn Central Bears + Official Tickets

The Coahoma County Red Panthers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Alcorn Central Bears at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Coahoma County has three straight victories, Alcorn Central has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Coahoma County's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Independence 30-0. Considering the Red Panthers have won three contests by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Coahoma County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kendarious Sims and Radarius Crawford.

Meanwhile, Alcorn Central played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 49-15 loss at the hands of Kossuth. The Bears were down 42-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Coahoma County will have to keep a close watch on Ashton Peters and Ty Whitten, a pair of players who had a big impact on Alcorn Central's prior game. Peters rushed for 69 yards and one score on only seven carries, while Whitten rushed for 69 yards. Peters also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making nine total tackles and defending one pass.

Coahoma County's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Alcorn Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
