Softball Recap: Gulf Breeze Takes a Loss

Gulf Breeze was the 7-3 winner over Jay when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gulf Breeze Dolphins fell 5-2 to the Jay Royals on Friday.

Gulf Breeze saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sally Alberson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ashlynn Stemcosky also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Gulf Breeze's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Jay, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

After both having extra time off, Gulf Breeze and Choctawhatchee will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 6:30 p.m. on March 26th. Jay will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on March 27th.
