Softball Game Preview: Shelton Highclimbers vs. Centralia Tigers

The Shelton Highclimbers are taking a road trip to square off against the Centralia Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shelton has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Shelton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs last Saturday, they were much more limited against WF West on Monday. They lost 26-2 to the Bearcats.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centralia). They were the clear victors by a 30-11 margin over R.A. Long on Monday.

Centralia now has a winning record of 3-2-2. As for Shelton, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Shelton might still be hurting after the 16-4 defeat they got from Centralia when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Shelton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
