Basketball Recap: Morrill Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Morrill managed to slip by Hay Springs the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions had to suffer through a 63-16 loss at the hands of the Hawks. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-9.

Patrick Owens was Morrill's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Hay Springs found their leader in sophomore Hunter Theis, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 22 points and four steals. Arian Mata was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Morrill is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Hay Springs, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Morrill has already played their next contest, a 60-15 defeat against Garden County on the 12th. As for Hay Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-6 win against Banner County on the 13th.
