Softball Recap: Chilton County Tigers vs. Stanhope Elmore Mustangs
There's no place like home for Chilton County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-1 back in February.
Mallie Harrison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lily Benson was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Pierce, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
