Baseball Game Preview: Person Rockets vs. Jordan Falcons

Person is 1-6 against Jordan since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Person Rockets will be playing at home against the Jordan Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Thursday, Person got the win against South Granville by a conclusive 13-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Person let Gavin Dodson and Brady Holmes run wild. Dodson scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Holmes scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, Holmes posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Jackson Riggan was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Person always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Granville only posted an OBP of .375.

Meanwhile, Jordan suffered their closest loss since March 15, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Heritage by a score of 12-10.

Jordan also got a good showing from Philip Daly, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Nick Stewart and Carson Hickey stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stewart scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Hickey scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Peyton Jones, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Jordan's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Person, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
