Recap: New Dimensions vs. Liberty Chargers

Even though New Dimensions have not done well against the Liberty Chargers recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. New Dimensions came out on top in a nail-biter against Liberty and snuck past 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

New Dimensions got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeriel Martinez out in front who scored 20 points. Martinez is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Blake Ferrante, who scored 15 points.

The victory (which was New Dimensions' third in a row) raised their record to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Liberty, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

New Dimensions will head out on the road to square off against Poinciana at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Poinciana knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully New Dimensions likes a good challenge. As for Liberty, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Discovery at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Discovery focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
