Recap: Kelliher/Northome Mustangs vs. Red Lake Warriors
Make it ten blowout wins for the Kelliher/Northome Mustangs this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Red Lake 103-42 at home. Kelliher/Northome's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kelliher/Northome got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kate Thayer out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Thayer is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ella Thayer, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Kelliher/Northome and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Red Lake, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Kelliher/Northome will head out on the road to square off against Blackduck at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Blackduck will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Kelliher/Northome is ranked 79th). Red Lake will take on Bagley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
