Basketball Recap: Classical Finds Playoff Glory Versus Portsmouth

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Classical walked away with it. They breezed past the Portsmouth Patriots to the tune of 87-49 on Tuesday. The Purple have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Eliezer Delbrey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 30 points. The game was his 12th in a row with at least 15 points. Abdul Evans was another key player, earning 17 points.

Classical has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points over those games. Portsmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.

Looking ahead, Classical will challenge Bishop Hendricken at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Classical is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season. Portsmouth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
