Flag Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Elle Buenning and Devyn Ellington Lead Evergreen to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Green Mountain, Evergreen was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They secured a 14-8 W over the Standley Lake Gators.

Evergreen was led to victory by Devyn Ellington and Elle Buenning. Ellington gained 100 total yards and a touchdown, while Buenning picked up 102 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Evergreen's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Lyla Willoughby. She also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Evergreen's record is now 5-3. As for Standley Lake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gators beat Evergreen by a score of 26-6 later that day.
