Baseball Recap: South Pontotoc Comes Up Short

South Pontotoc was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to the New Albany Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 last Monday.

South Pontotoc's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for New Albany, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

South Pontotoc wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 defeat against Lausanne Collegiate on the 10th. As for New Albany, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 victory against Tupelo Christian Prep on the 8th.
