Baseball Recap: Latta Comes Up Short

Latta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-5 to the Sumter Gamecocks. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Gamecocks from their previous meeting back in April of 2018.

Seth Minshew was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Latta's record now sits at 0-3. As for Sumter, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Latta will head out to take on Grace Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sumter, they will head out on the road to challenge Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Sumter's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
