East and Coatesville are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Vikings will welcome the Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (East 3.5, Coatesville 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Wednesday, East beat Bishop Shanahan 4-1. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Ferri Ava made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Ava was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cross Ava, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Catanach Isabel also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
East lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Coatesville waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Longhorns 4-2.
Gracelynn Landis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Taylor Sherry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Danielle Sweigart was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Coatesville's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for East, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. East hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Coatesville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
East might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Coatesville in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
