Softball Recap: Tustin Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Tustin's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 back in April.

Emery Diaz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samantha Reyes, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Tustin pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Godinez Fundamental, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Tustin nor Godinez Fundamental have any future games scheduled.
