Basketball Recap: Hondo Find Success

Hondo got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 victory over the Cotulla Cowboys on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Owls have posted since January 26, 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Hondo and bumps their season record up to 6-15. As for Cotulla, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hondo will venture away from home to face off against Crystal City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal City will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Hondo surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cotulla, they are taking a road trip to challenge Dilley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cotulla is facing Dilley at the right time seeing as Dilley is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
