Volleyball Game Preview: Fairfield Indians vs. Edgewood Cougars

The Fairfield Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Edgewood Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Fairfield didn't have quite enough to beat Carroll and fell 3-2.

Fairfield took Carroll into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-10, 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 16-14.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Edgewood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Lakota West on Tuesday.

Edgewood walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-21, 25-10.

Fairfield now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Edgewood, they pushed their record up to 2-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Fairfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Edgewood in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
