Softball Game Preview: Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. George Washington Eagles

The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the George Washington Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Westover Christian Academy has given up an average of 19.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Westover Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Christian Heritage Academy and fell 16-15.

Peyton Trammell stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Jackson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for George Washington's offense. They lost 19-0 to Bassett last Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bengals: they've now lost four in a row.

George Washington's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Westover Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Westover Christian Academy took their victory against George Washington in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 25-10 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
