Football Game Preview: Corner Canyon Chargers vs. Lehi Pioneers + How To Watch

The Corner Canyon Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Lehi Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Corner Canyon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: American Fork, who was ranked eighth at the time (Corner Canyon was ranked first). The Chargers enjoyed a cozy 37-21 win over the Cavemen on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Cavemen: they've now won eight in a row.

Helaman Casuga was his usual excellent self, throwing for 274 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushing for 51 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (156). Kai Meza was another key player, picking up 95 receiving yards and two TDs.

Meanwhile, Lehi gave up the first points on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They really took it to Lone Peak for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won six games by 23 points or more so far this season.

Corner Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Lehi, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Corner Canyon barely slipped by Lehi in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 35-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
