Soccer Recap: West Mesquite Comes Up Short

West Mesquite lost against Poteet back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Mesquite Wranglers came up short against the Poteet Pirates, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Wranglers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 564th, while the Pirates are ranked 182nd).

This is the second loss in a row for West Mesquite and nudges their season record down to 3-10. As for Poteet, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, West Mesquite will venture away from home to take on Wilson at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st. As for Poteet, they have already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Spruce on the 18th.
