Volleyball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Beats Covenant for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Calvary Baptist Academy came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Covenant Eagles by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Calvary Baptist Academy easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-20.

Bella Deel was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had five digs and two aces. What's more, she posted three assists, the most she's had over her last nine games. Daisy Runyan also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Calvary Baptist Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Calvary Baptist Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Baptist Academy will welcome Elk Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covenant, they will be playing at home against Ohio Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
