Both made his presence known in Cedar Valley's 3-0 loss
Cedar Valley was sadly handed a defeat on Thursday, but Gideon Both did his best to prevent it. Maple Mountain had no answer to Both as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.
Even though Both couldn't lead Cedar Valley over Maple Mountain, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both has dominated as far as walks are concerned (he's averaged 1.2 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering Maple Mountain has only allowed 3.93 per game this season.
