Volleyball Recap: Paige Brennan Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

It was close, but on Tuesday the Mekeel Christian Academy Lions sidestepped the Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs for a 3-2 victory.

Mekeel Christian Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Mekeel Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Paige Brennan out in front who had 12 kills, eight aces, and three digs. With that strong performance, Brennan is now averaging an impressive 2.4 aces per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Bria Salvo, who had 37 assists and five aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Mekeel Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive contests.

Mekeel Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3-1. As for Cobleskill-Richmondville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
