League recap: Gold Beach extends winning streak with victory over Coquille

Gold Beach added to the longest winning streak in 2A Special District 1 this week by beating Coquille, 58-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Gold Beach took down the Red Devils 58-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. CJ Maxwell threw for 229 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 14 yards in the win.

Gold Beach's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Maxwell has thrown for 1,144 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Garrett Litterell has 35 catches for 580 yards.

Kevin Swift's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on Coquille. Maxwell ran for 14 yards during the win.
