Baseball Recap: Central Linn Triumphs

While Central Linn's win against Mohawk wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cobras skirted past the Mustangs 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cobras have posted since May 1, 2024.

Colten Northern made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

Northern wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Helms, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

The win made it two in a row for Central Linn and bumps their season record up to 6-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Mohawk, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Central Linn will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
