Wayne Valley snaps three-game streak of wins at home

Recap: Wayne Valley Indians vs. Ramapo Raiders

After a string of five wins, the Wayne Valley Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-47 to Ramapo. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wayne Valley in their matchups with Ramapo: they've now lost five in a row.

Loss or not, Wayne Valley got some senior leadership from Anthony Apicella and Omar Ali. Apicella scored 22 points along with six rebounds, while Ali. scored 14 points along with two steals.

Leading Ramapo to victory were Charlie Wingfield and Wyatt Eglinton manner. Wingfield scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Eglinton manner scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Wingfield continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Goldman, who scored nine points.

Wayne Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Ramapo, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne Valley will take on Dumont at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Dumont is ranked 79th, while Wayne Valley is ranked 77th). As for Ramapo, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against St. Rose at 4:00 p.m. St. Rose is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
