Volleyball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty lost against Fountain-Fort Carson back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lancers came up short against the Trojans, falling 3-0. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Liberty was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Fountain-Fort Carson's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 25-23.

Shea Taylor paced Liberty's offense, picking up four kills. Taylor got some help from Alyssa Willcox and her seven assists. Finally, Makenzie Praytor kept Liberty's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Liberty will challenge rival Rampart at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fountain-Fort Carson is set to square off against their familiar foe Doherty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
