Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Academy Jaguars vs. Stargate School Eagles

The Jefferson Academy Jaguars will challenge the Stargate School Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Stargate School likes a good challenge.

Jefferson Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Kent Denver just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 100-74 to the Sun Devils. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (67), the Jaguars still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Stargate School suffered their biggest loss since January 30, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Peak to Peak, falling 85-62. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Pumas are ranked 15th).

Stargate School dropped their record down to 8-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Jefferson Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

Jefferson Academy came up short against Stargate School in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 51-38. Can Jefferson Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
