Recap: Wolfe City Wolves vs. Timpson Bears
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Wolfe City Wolves can now relate to. They were dealt a 58-20 defeat at the hands of Timpson on Friday. Wolfe City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.
Despite the loss, Wolfe City had strong showings from Carson Herron, who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and Hd Davis, who rushed for 148 yards. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played.
It was another big night for Terry Bussey, who rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per attempt. Bussey was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Amari Bruton was another key contributor, picking up 225 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wolfe City's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Timpson, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Wolfe City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Timpson will take on Honey Grove at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Honey Grove has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 177 points over their last four matchups.
