Recap: DasCHE Spartans vs. Westlake Academy Blacksmiths
After a string of three wins, the DasCHE Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 49-38 to Westlake Academy. DasCHE was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westlake Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Westlake Academy found their leader in underclassman Maya Sonday, who scored 20 points. The contest was Sonday's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Bailey Burdick was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
DasCHE's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-7. As for Westlake Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
DasCHE will head out on the road to face off against Milford at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. Milford's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so DasCHE's offense will have their work cut out for DasCHE. As for Westlake Academy, they will take on Tournament Opponent at 12:45 p.m. on Friday.
