Recap: Nashville Scrappers vs. Malvern Leopards

It was a good run, but The Nashville Scrappers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 35-21 bruising from Malvern. Nashville has struggled against Malvern recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Nashville still got an impressive performance from Tre Hopkins, who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Hopkins hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.

Even if they lost, Nashville's defensive line still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Zaccheus Harris and Makhi Johnson who racked up five sacks between them.

Jalen Dupree was his usual excellent self, rushing for 333 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Dupree hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games.

Nashville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Malvern, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.

Nashville will take on Lonoke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Malvern, they will head out on the road to face off against Arkadelphia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arkadelphia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Malvern likes a good challenge.
