Recap: Cedar Park Timberwolves vs. Georgetown Eagles
The Cedar Park Timberwolves had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against Georgetown by a score of 28-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Cedar Park was the better team in the second half.
It was another big night for Ayden Arp, who threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Trae Hill and his 109 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Cedar Park's victory.
Despite the loss, Georgetown still got an impressive performance from Cody Holubec, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Georgetown's defense sure didn't make it easy: Cedar Park's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Caleb Reagor and his two sacks.
Cedar Park's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Georgetown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Cedar Park will square off against Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canyon will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Georgetown, they will square off against Smithson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithson Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Georgetown in Texas (Smithson Valley is ranked 55th, while Georgetown is ranked 219th).
