Basketball Recap: Westfield Comes Up Short

Westfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 55-25 loss at the hands of the Centreville Wildcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-25 back in January.

Westfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Centreville, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westfield will face off against Chantilly at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chantilly will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Westfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Centreville, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Centreville Wildcats take on the Oakton Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Centreville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
