Baseball Recap: The Academy Wildcats vs. Timnath Cubs        
        
		
            
 The Academy pushed their score to 21 the last time they played they, but  on Saturday they couldn't quite do it again. They never let the Timnath Cubs onto the board and left with  a   1-0  victory. The Academy's  win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet  this season.
  Dylan Akers made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out 19 over eight innings pitched. Akers was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Tony Fabian was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with two  doubles and  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Timnath  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 12  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 The Academy's victory was  their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Timnath, they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-6.
 The Academy will head out on the road to  face off against  Prospect Ridge Academy at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Timnath, they will be playing at home against Eaton at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Eaton knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy  run totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Timnath likes a good challenge.
