Baseball Recap: Windham Takes a Loss

Windham came into this matchup off a tough 15-run defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Putnam Clippers by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. The Whippets haven't had much luck with the Clippers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Armani Crespo put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits. Crespo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Crespo wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Aillon Pomo, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Windham now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Putnam, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Windham will be playing at home against St. Bernard at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Whippets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Putnam, they will head out to take on Parish Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
