Football Recap: Rock Bridge's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Jefferson City last Friday, Rock Bridge came back down to earth. The Bruins fell 30-22 to the Capital City Cavaliers on Friday. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Capital City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaqures Richardson led the charge by rushing for 187 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries. Richardson didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended two passes. Jaylen Thomas was another key rusher, rushing for 125 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Rock Bridge's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2. As for Capital City, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Rock Bridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-6 defeat against Helias on the 26th. As for Capital City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 41-35 victory against Jefferson City on the 26th.
