Basketball Recap: Seabreeze Skates Past Taylor with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Seabreeze on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Taylor Wildcats out of the water with a 52-12 final score. With the Sandcrabs ahead 32-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Seabreeze was led to victory by Amaya Bethea and Madeleine Trumble. Bethea almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards, while Trumble dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Bethea also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Michelle Ackley, who posted seven points and seven steals.

Seabreeze smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 39 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Seabreeze's third in a row) raised their record to 10-9. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.0 points per game. As for Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Seabreeze will square off against Father Lopez at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Father Lopez has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Taylor, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Taylor Wildcats take on the Pine Ridge Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
