If Piper was riding high fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Basehor-Linwood on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the De Soto Wildcats on Thursday.

Jack Franzen wasn't going to let De Soto walk away unscathed as he scored both of Piper's goals, bringing his season total up to nine goals.

Piper's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for De Soto, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
