Volleyball Recap: Fairfield's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of three wins, Fairfield's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Massac County Patriots. The Mules were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Gracyn Vaughan paced Fairfield's offense, picking up eight kills. Vaughan got some help from Dalanie Ellis and her 19 assists. Finally, Serenity Dagg kept Fairfield's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 24-11. As for Massac County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-5 record this season.

Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Massac County, they will square off against Harrisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
