Basketball Game Preview: Mesick Bulldogs vs. Crossroads Charter Academy Cougars

The Mesick Bulldogs will challenge the Crossroads Charter Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mesick has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Crossroads Charter Academy will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Friday, Mesick had to suffer through a 48-16 loss at the hands of Pentwater.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crossroads Charter Academy). They blew past Marion, posting a 56-18 victory. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Eagles are ranked 646th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crossroads Charter Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points per game. As for Mesick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Mesick was taken down by Crossroads Charter Academy 44-14 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Mesick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
