Recap: Boiling Springs Bulldogs vs. Dorman Cavaliers
After flying high against the Hillcrest Rams last Friday, the Boiling Springs Bulldogs came back down to earth. Boiling Springs lost to Dorman at home by a decisive 48-34 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Boiling Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Dorman is ranked 29th).
Boiling Springs' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brynn Tipton, who scored eight points along with five steals, and Sarah Ezell who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Ezell hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games.
Dorman found their leader in underclassman Morgan White, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. White has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Miller, who scored six points along with three steals.
Boiling Springs has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Dorman, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Boiling Springs will head out on the road to face off against Gaffney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaffney knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Boiling Springs likes a good challenge. As for Dorman, they will be playing at home against Blacksburg at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Blacksburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
