Basketball Recap: Wakefield Memorial Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wakefield Memorial can now relate to. They were dealt a 93-56 loss at the hands of the Holyoke Purple Knights on Thursday. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Holyoke's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Cabrera, who posted 17 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan King-Perilli, who shot 78% from the field on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Wakefield Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Holyoke, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Wakefield Memorial nor Holyoke have any future games scheduled.
