Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwestern). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging an 86-56 victory over the Herron Achaeans. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Spartans had established a 27 point advantage.

Herron's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaden Parker, who went 8 for 12 en route to 22 points, and Eli Smith, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Parker a new career-high in points. Cj Stephens was another key player, putting up four points.

The win snapped Southwestern's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-10 record. As for Herron, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-18.

Southwestern and Herron could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Southwestern will challenge Hauser at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 317 places (392 vs. 75). Meanwhile, Herron (ranked 402nd) will meet Sheridan (ranked 177th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
